

Halifax Public Libraries was the proud host of a groundbreaking joint conference between Nova Scotia’s archives, libraries, and museums professional communities the weekend of September 25-27, 2015. The ALM Conference – the first of its kind in Eastern Canada – was a collaborative effort between four professional associations:
- Association of Nova Scotia Museums (ANSM)
- Council of Nova Scotia Archives (CNSA)
- Library Boards Association of Nova Scotia (LBANS)
- Nova Scotia Library Associations (NSLA)
This historic conference’s theme was Public Places, Community Spaces and it offered delegates content on topics of cross-disciplinary interest including, the convergence of our roles and goals; ways to enhance lifelong learning across disciplines; practical ways to safeguard our cultural and written heritage; and topics of shared interest such as advocacy, governance, infrastructure, and legislation.
